Last night I swam 1.99km in what can only be described as a pinball machine. Ever changing currents, lots of surf, not really much in my favour and it was very dark. It took over 41mins to do that distance in the given conditions. Tonight I went out feeling a bit under the weather because some ordinary life stuff got in the way today and I was expecting a bit of a slog in th4e surf swim. To my surprise once I got out there among the surf, the current was nowhere near as eratic as I expected. The surf was steady and the darkness constant. But I managed 2.5km in 37mins.
We have to show up, we have to accept the conditions we find ourselves in and we have to keep swiiming, keep our heads above water. Some nights will be harder than others but if we look for a way, we find a way and we progress.
